Resources for the DE Division of Public Health

Athens - Athens allows remote access to most of the resources listed below for everyone affiliated with DelMIRA member institutions.  Click here to register for remote access to your institution's resources.

CINAHL - Cumlative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature.  Available as a one-year trial courtesy of EBSCO.  Click here to access CINAHL outside of DPH.

DynaMed – a point-of-care tool, DynaMed provides evidence-based topic reviews for over 3,000 disease specific topics. DynaMed is updated daily, and also includes patient education handouts.  Click here to access DynaMed outside of DPH.

Health Business Elite Full Text – a database created specifically for healthcare administrators, Health Business Elite contains full text content from over 450 journals, some dating as far back as 1965.  Click here to access Health Business Elite outside of DPH.

MDConsult – is a cross-searchable compendium of over 50 textbooks in a wide array of disciplines, as well as over 100 journals, patient education handouts, drug information and current medical news. Physicians also have the opportunity to gain CME credits by utilizing MDConsult.  Click here to access MDConsult outside of DPH.

MEDLINE - the premiere index of biomedical literature produced by the National Library of Medicine.  Click here to access MEDLINE outside of DPH.

New England Journal of Medicine – provides fulltext online access to the most current issue, plus fulltext back to 1993. Also included are procedure videos and the ability to download audio files of certain articles to an iPod or a PDA.  Click here to access New England Journal of Medicine outside of DPH. 

Nursing Consult - is a cross-seachable compendium of over 30 nursing textbooks, as well as over 35 journals, patient education handouts, drug information, clinical updates and current medical news.  This resources is available as a trial and is not available for remote access.  Remote access will be available if the product is licensed.  Please click here to email the DelMIRA Project Manager with your comments about this resource.

Nursing Index - indexes peer-reviewed journals, trade publications, and electronic-only titles.  Comprehensive coverage that includes evidence-based healthcare; nursing specialties and professions; nursing education and training; nursing development and management.  This resources is available as a trial and is not available for remote access.  Remote access will be available if the product is licensed.  Please click here to email the DelMIRA Project Manager with your comments about this resource.

Nursing Reference Center - point-of-care resource intended for staff nurses, nurse administrators, nursing students, nurse faculty, and hospital librarians.  Available as a one-year trial courtesy of EBSCO.  Click here to access Nursing Reference Center outside of DPH.

OVID Electronic Journals – participants chose approximately ten titles that most closely fit individual hospital specialties. Available titles include Annals of Internal Medicine , American Journal of Medicine , and Circulation.  Click here to access OVID journals and OVID MEDLINE outside of DPH.

STAT!Ref – cross-searchable compendium of approximately 25 mostly-nursing related textbook titles. Also includes access to ACP PIER. Produced by the American Academy of Physicians, PIER (Physicians' Information and Education Resource) is a Web-based decision-support tool designed for rapid point-of-care delivery of up-to-date, evidence-based guidance for clinicians. Information in PIER is presented in a "drill down" format, in which the user clicks from an opening guidance statement through to more specific information.  Click here to access STAT!Ref outside of DPH.

TDNet - provides "one-stop-shopping" for print and electronic journal holdings.  Search by journal title, see your institution's print and electronic holdings, link to the full text, or link to the table of contents.  Also includes TOUR Resolver which allows you to link directly to fulltext, no matter what search engine you are searching.  Click here to access TDNet outside of DPH.
